Getting Started

Why work with a nutritionist?

You may be thinking, “Nutritionist? Isn’t that just healthy eating?”   To an extent it is, but I offer so much more. My aim is to get to the root of the problem.  If you’ve ever wondered “WHY is this happening to me?”, then that’s what I want to discover too.

What’s different about working with me?

When I work with clients, I don’t just look at what you’re eating, I look at you as an individual, your lifestyle, your family, your work, your mood, and how this is affecting your health.

I work with clients where they are right now.  You don’t have to be eating a great diet before we start.  But most importantly, with me, there’s no judgement. If you hate cooking, I can work with that. If you don’t want to give up your favourites, I can work with that too.

Testimonials

from my healthy clients

What my clients say…

“I thoroughly recommend a visit to Devon Nutrition for clear and effective advice and supply of good quality remedies. These have helped me solve several physical issues. Thank you Hazel for your non judgemental, accepting and empowering approach.” PA Oxford

“I sought Hazel`s help, on recommendation, to help with increasing stomach pains and constipation. I arrived tied up in knots and tearful and left feeling a huge sense of relief and of taking some control.  I found Hazel so very kind and understanding, I quickly felt a deep sense of confidence in her knowledge and her ability to help me.  Her assessment was thorough and uncovered both my emotional as well as my dietary issues.  With some changes to my diet and a few supplements I felt the benefits very quickly.  Hazel has a gentle, positive approach and I highly recommend her.”  LJ Exmouth

"Hazel is brilliant. She's kind approachable and completely cured me of long-term fatigue and muscle ache. Her advice is practical and easy to follow and, even though my diet is not always the best, she is non-judgemental. I would recommend her to anyone.”  JB Exmouth

What parents say…

“Hazel helped with nutrition advice for our daughter who was 8 years old at the time. She was suffering with digestion problems. We followed the guidance given & saw a good improvement in our daughter’s health & growth. We would like to say a big thank you to Hazel & would highly recommend her to others in a similar position.”  JH Exmouth

“Hazel really helped my son with advice about his IBS.  She advised him what was good for him to eat and what to avoid .  Hazel has certainly changed him for the better.  He has a great understanding of it all now and I would like to thank you from us both.” DM Exmouth

Lovely picnic and swim this lunchtime. Shame I forgot to take a picture before but it was soooo good.

Cold new potatoes with yoghurt/ coriander and lemon balm. Bit of cold chicken, half an avocado, spoonful of guacamole, sprinkle of seaweed and lime juice.

Very happy with my super quick gluten/ dairy free low calorie lunch.

I made the soup yesterday with onion peppers and garlic. Fried gently then added paprika and turmeric, tin of tomatoes and vegetable stock. Reheated today with small fillet of frozen haddock.

    Mmmmmmm😃🙂🤩🥰

Vitamin A is NOT in carrots, it's only found in animal foods.

Beta carotene found in carrots should convert in the body to vitamin A but.....

Over half of UK women may have a genetic variant which makes this conversion ineffective.

The process also needs good levels of zinc which are often low especially in women and more often since Covid.

Low vitamin A can show up as eye, skin, or digestive problems. It's also linked with infertility and an increased rate of infection. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/11/091118072051.htm
